Home / life / ya-ttitude / 15 Images from the Proposition 8 Rally
Part of a Positive Ya-ttitude is knowing that when the time comes - You will be at the right place at the right time.
It is not only about good luck, but it is about making your own luck. I happened to be on a business trip in Los Angeles the past three days, and as part of the trip I really wanted a Hot Dog from Pinks, I mean I was in L.A. So off to Pinks I went tonight. On the way back - roads were closed, people were everywhere and truck loads of police were being ushered and delivered (literally) everywhere. Because cars were not allowed to drive along Highland, among many of the other main roads, I had to walk back about half a mile to get to my hotel. But… A huge Prop 8 rally was taking place on the corner of Hollywood Blvd and Highland. Hundreds of Police - and hundreds of Protesters. Maybe 1000’s of Police and 1000’s of protesters. I am sure the news crews will get all the details for you over the next few days. But, for you, I have 15 images from the rally. Wild night - and I finally was able to get to the hotel. I had to take an adventurous journey to do it. But here I am writing this piece for you!
So - Keep that Ya-ttitude in focus, believe that you can and will be in the right place at the right time - and you will!
This is not about what is right or what is wrong. This is not about anything other than Americans being Americans and Democracy in full action. Your position is your position and Their Position is their Position, but the beauty of our country is that we can get out and tell the world - Just where we stand!
Click the images for larger versions and if you really want the original HUGE Images drop me a note and we can talk about it. Great night and great hot dogs! It does not get more American - Hot Dogs and Democracy in action!

Thank you for the Images, it is so inspiring to see people finally get passionate about what they believe in. Thank you so much, I am wondering if you know how I can get a RALLY organized on the Westside of Los Angeles, I am willing to donate my time and Home to the cause…

Now suppose the “NO” vote won out on Proposition 8 and the “YES” proponents were out demonstrating, do you think that the position of “but the beauty of our country is that we can get out and tell the world - Just where we stand!”?
I totally doubt it.

@ Everyone - Like I said - It was all about being at the right place at the right time. It was a definite “cool” and a powerful display of American Voices being heard.
@Bill Specifically - I would hope that we as Americans can look at both sides of the coin equally. I know it is not always the case - Bit I would like to believe it and would work to make it happen!

I agree with you Benny, I am glad that we live in a country where we are still allowed to voice our concerns. Great shots of history in the making. I see you changed your look to the tough reporter look to go with it

Thanks Pam - I usually try to call everything up the middle - I like things when they are fair and square. I know it is not ALWAYS possible - but I would like to think we should all be trying to do that!
